Startup Accelerators

Chain Reaction Innovations (CRI) is a two-year fellowship program for innovators focused on clean energy and science technologies. Through an annual call, four to six individuals/teams are selected to join CRI.

Cyclotron Road a division of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, supports entrepreneurial scientists and engineers as they develop globally impactful and commercially viable technology products.

Dreamit Ventures is a growth-focused venture fund offering urban-tech start-ups. Only invests in startups that have gone through the Dreamit program which provides startups with direct access to enterprise customers, investors, advisors, and thought leaders. 

Impel+  stands for Incubating Market-Propelled Entrepreneurial Mindsets at the Labs and Beyond. Participants are building technology and program innovators from business, academia, and DOE’s national lab, funded by the Building Technologies Office and implemented by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.

IN2 Funded by the Wells Fargo Foundation, IN2 uses expertise and facilities of the U.S. Department of Energy National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center (Danforth Center). Selected companies receive $250,000 non-dilutive grants.

Innovation Crossroads is a two-year program for fellows focusing on energy and advanced manufacturing technologies. Includes a personal living stipend, health insurance, travel allowance, a grant to use on collaborative R&D at ORNL, and mentoring assistance to build a sustainable business model.

New Lab is a Brooklyn-born accelerator focused on infrastructure innovation and solving global challenges located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard with 84,000 ft² of workspace and prototyping facilities.

Techstars Sustainability chooses over 500 early-stage companies each year to join a 3-month, mentorship-driven accelerators, which invests $120K and providing hands-on mentorship and access to the Techstars network for life.

Third Derivative – D3 is an accelerator focused on clean energy and climate tech (a joint venture of RMI and New Energy Nexus), will be considering new applicants on a rolling basis in 2021.
